We were treated to a thunderous hail storm that dumped the temperature down 20 degrees and left us with hail all around the yard today. It's really not over yet...but just had to share.

Very common around here this time of year. Hardly a "freak" storm.
Freak in that it came upon us quickly, first as a thunderstorm, then a torrential downpour which changed to hail. It was not the first hail storm in the area this Spring--quite a few have been mentioned in the paper, but it was the first one to hit our part of Sisters Country. There is still hail piles on the ground out here this morning. Funny the weather service didn't forecast this (Partly cloudy day was their call), at least on the web sites and news casts I check out.

Sorry Anonymous, but I'd call that "freaky" also.
