Sisters, OR -- The Full Checkout

Hi all! We arrived at Sisters Oregon on Wednesday and we've had strong feelings that here is the place. We'll be visiting the school today and doing a more indepth look than our usual drive around and reading of Chamber of Commerce propaganda.

Will upload more pics and videos this evening as we can get to the central wireless.

Chao!

I don't remember Oregon being one of the places we voted on...but this is your life. I hope you find everything you are hoping for.

Cool! I hope the schools look good; especially for Max. Keep us posted...and post some photos too please.

That is soooo far away! But we have been far away for years and maintained our 20 year buddy system. A new business might be fun (what about Good Morning America??haha) DJ is working at the Golf Course--free golfing and going to school--what a life!! You will love whatever you choose--give the kids a hug and double check on all the teachers!! Love Mary

Well, to answre Juliet's question: Sisters wasn't even on our list. We stopped here to stay in the RV park while we checked out Bend. We'd looked at Bend (online, not in person) a few years ago when it was on someone's list of x# great places to live, but hadn't thought about it much since. While in Walla Walla, we talked with a family who were heading to Bend next, just because it's a great place to visit.

So we planned to come to Bend on the way from Sequim to Reno. But as fate would have it, the RV parks in Bend proper all looked too adult-oriented for us. So we tried Sisters.

I guess this was meant to be--kind of the 'this is the place' feeling I was looking for. Housing is expensive here, and jobs are not easy to come by, but we feel confident we're in the right place and things will work out.

And yeah, sorry, Mary it IS far away, but as you said, we've been long-distance friends a lot longer than we were ever neighbors!

Once we get a house, y'all will have to make an excuse to get out here!
